The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has extended the last date for filing annual returns till 15 June 2026, providing relief to Food Business Operators (FBOs).
The annual return filing is a mandatory compliance requirement for licensed food businesses involved in manufacturing, importing, repacking, and re-labelling activities. The return includes important details such as product information, quantity handled, and business operations for the financial year.
The extension gives businesses additional time to compile records, verify data, and complete filing through the FoSCoS portal without facing last minute difficulties.
Food businesses should still avoid delaying the process, as non filing of annual returns may attract penalties and compliance related issues under FSSAI regulations.
FBOs are advised to review their product details, license information, and operational records carefully before submitting the annual return within the revised deadline.
