On 17th October 2023, FSSAI issued a direction regarding the re-operationalization of FSS (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2022. As the notification of final amendment regulation is likely to take some time, it has been decided to re-operationalize those provisions with effect from 01.07.2023. The amended regulations are about the labelling requirements of non-retail container, minimally processed food, tolerance limits of declared nutrients, fortified foods, warning statement related to pan masala, declarations with respect to certain artificial sweeteners, etc.
