On 18th June 2024, FSSAI issued an order to:
1. Prohibit the sale of unsafe Food: If the food sample lifted By CFSO/FSO is found unsafe in the report of the primary Food laboratory, then the DO/CLA shall direct FBOs to prohibit the sale of unsafe food products
2. Recall Unsafe Food: After implementing Prohibition of Sale, the food is to be recalledย in the following cases:
ย ย ย ย ย a) If the FBO prefers an appeal against the report of the primary lab and the report of the food analyst of the referralย Laboratory declares the food unsafe.
ย ย ย ย ย b) If the FBOย does not prefer an appeal within the stipulated time period.
